The Vietnamese Victims of Agent Orange Trust

Our projects

The Trust's second cows project was to raise enough money to buy cows for Agent Orange victims in Phong Dien district north of Hue in central Vietnam. It raised enough to buy 25 cows. Previously it had handed over 65 cows to families in the A Loui district, west of Hue in central Vietnam. The money for both projects was raised internationally as well as in Australia.

There were heroic fundraising efforts, such as that of the women of Legacy, war widows and card players, at Claremont in southern Tasmania. They raised more than $3400 at two luncheons in the local RSL hall where there were stalls, door raffles, etc.

All the money the trust receives, 100 per cent, goes to the recipients in Vietnam. The trustees bear all other costs themselves. Its supporters come from around the world and include office workers, businesspeople, professionals, war widows, pensioners and others on fixed incomes.

Abbey's Bookshop at 131 York Street, Sydney, has been a very special sponsor of the Cows Project. Other sponsors, in turn, support Abbey's, which has an excellent online ordering service.

The trust is pleased to have the support of a new business in Melbourne, tabletopbbq.com, which, as its name suggests, is importing tabletop barbecues from Vietnam. It is donating five per cent of its sales revenue to this Trust.
